Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free.

Immigration is a beautiful part of America’s historical traditions. People of all backgrounds come to this great country seeking a better life and a chance to pursue the American dream.

The US admits between 700,000 and 900,000 legal immigrants into the US every year. In order to ensure that every American and legal immigrant has the same opportunities at life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, we must secure our nations boarders.

For several decades now criminals have been using our southern border for not just drugs and weapons smuggling but also human trafficking. A lack of action has allowed for a true humanitarian crisis at our southern boarder. Men, woman and children are falling victim to this as they attempt to enter America for a better life. I am looking to find real solutions to these problems and I have already begun working on bipartisan legislation that will work fairly and compassionately for America and the people.
